Hi! I am a PhD candidate in economics at Georgetown University. As an applied microeconomist and structural econometrician, I study economic questions in labor, education, and sports. I am on the job market in 2026–27.
My job market paper, "Optimal Multistage Selection: Evidence from Graduate Admissions," develops and estimates structural models of an admissions committee's multistage selection problem. The paper finds that the committee was close to optimal along most dimensions, but that reweighting some applicant characteristics could have increased the admitted cohort's average success probability by 4 percentage points without reading more application files.
My work on NFL quarterback prospect evaluation (with Alexandre Olbrecht and Aaron Schatz) has appeared annually on ESPN since 2021, and my research on professional tennis (with Axel Anderson, John Rust, and Kin-ping Wong) was published in the Journal of Political Economy in 2025.
